When I asked Stephanie and Samuel why they chose The Huron Substation for their wedding, the answer made me laugh.
“It’s where The Fast and the Furious was filmed.”
Honestly? Fair enough.
Movie trivia aside, it ended up being the perfect backdrop for their day. The historic building has so much character, and paired with their vision, it felt equal parts stylish, intimate, and incredibly romantic.
One thing about Stephanie, she knows how to put together a look. She started the day getting ready in a vintage gown from Dresscue.LA before changing into her wedding dress by Ines Di Santo from Lovella Bridal. And just when I thought she’d peaked, she changed into a For Love & Lemons outfit for the reception that was so fun and fit the vibe perfectly.
They also asked their guests to dress up, and everyone understood the assignment. From the tailored suits to the dresses, every person added to the overall feel of the day. It wasn’t over-the-top or overly formal – it just felt intentional.
One of my favorite things about intimate weddings is how unrushed they feel. There’s actually time to talk to your people, soak everything in, and enjoy the day without feeling like you’re constantly running from one thing to the next. Stephanie and Samuel did exactly that.
There were quiet moments together, lots of laughter with family and friends, and so many little in-between moments that made the day feel personal. Those are always my favorite photos to capture.
If you’re planning a smaller wedding and want a venue that’s full of history, character, and something a little unexpected, The Huron Substation is such a fun choice. Stephanie and Samuel made it completely their own, and that’s exactly what made it so memorable.
